Permanent Retainers

Permanent Retainers/Bonded Retainers

After orthodontics, teeth tend to want to shift toward their original pre-treatment position.  Traditional removable retainers have been an unreliable solution to prevent this problem.  However, Dr. Majznerski has had great success with permanent bonded retainers.  What is a bonded retainer?

The bonded retainer is placed in such a way that the patient is able to pass dental floss between each of their teeth.  There is special dental floss called "Floss Threaders" that we give each of our patients that have a bonded retainer and they are instructed as to how to use this floss.

Patients love bonded retainers because they are reliable, hassle free, don't get lost and are invisible, even when flashing your broad new perfect smile.

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign moves teeth comfortably with a series of custom-made, removable, nearly invisible aligners.

What is Invisalign Teen?
Invisalign Teen is specifically designed for teens and common teenage orthodontic problems and offers the same effective technology of regular Invisalign.

Benefits of Invisalign Teen:
  • One of the major benefits of Invisalign treatment is that our patients hardly have to miss any school!  Our patients only have to be seen once every two months.
  • It's removable for good hygiene - You can brush and floss normally, which can help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
  • You can still eat when you want - Because the aligners are removable and should be removed when you eat you don't have to worry about what you eat.

For over 20 years we have enjoyed bringing beautiful smiles to life and would like to show our thanks.  The highest compliment our patients can give is the referral of their family and friends.  We want to recognize the trust you have in our practice.  In order to show our appreciation we would like to introduce you to our new Refer A Friend Rewards program.

This program gives you the opportunity to help a friend make a very well-informed decision about their treatment while giving you the chance to earn a $100 Visa gift card (or $50 if they start limited treatment or early treatment for children) when your friend starts complete/comprehensive treatment.  What a great way to help a friend and be rewarded for your confidence in us at the same time!

One more reason to consider Orthodontic Treatment

Straight Talk about Crooked Teeth

Teeth that are not aligned properly in your mouth create what dentists call "malocclusion".

Left untreated, maloccusion can lead to periodontal disease and create abnormal amounts of stress on teeth and jaws, which leads to premature wear.

Malocclusion affects 74% of American adults.  If you have malocclusion, it may affect your periodontal health, because it is difficult to remove plaque when teeth are not aligned.  Periodontal disease can begin as gum redness or bleeding while brushing your teeth or using dental floss, and you may notice halitosis, or bad breath.  If not treated, gum inflammation can become worse, leading to soft tissue damage, receding gums, the formation of pockets between teeth and gums, bone loss, and eventually tooth loss.

Straight Teeth are Healthier Teeth

Straight, properly aligned teeth can help you avoid the negative effects of periodontal disease.

Straightening your teeth can make a significant difference to having a healthy mouth and keeping your teeth for life.

The Advantages of Invisalign Teen

Invisalign Teen really works.  It helps correct a broad range of dental and orthodontic issues.  You can get a confident smile without metal bands, brackets or wires.

Advantages:
  • Invisalign Teen is a lot easier to take care of and manage than regular braces are.
  • Invisalign Teen is designed to custom-fit your teeth and go with your lifestyle.  You just pop it in.  When you eat, you just pop it out and that's it.
  • During your treatment, you can keep smiling, playing sports, eating what you want and brushing and flossing normally.  Plus, unlike traditional braces, the aligners are made of smooth plastic and move your teeth gradually.
  • Invisalign Teen allows for the growth of your permanent teeth (secondary molars, plus first and second bicuspids).  Moreover, you can start treatment even if all of your permanent teeth aren't in.
  • It's important to make sure you are following your treatment.  The Blue Dot Wear Indicator provides an approximate gauge of wear.  The dot is designed to fade to clear over a two-week period if you wear your aligners properly.
Dr. Majznerski is an Invisalign Teen Provider.  This indicates that he has been trained on Invisalign Teen tools and technology.  To become an Invisalign Teen provider, dentists and orthodontists have to demonstrate a certain level of experience working on actual teen cases.
